Our campervans are comfortable, rugged and ready to explore!

design & build philosophy

Floor plan of campervan

Solid Foundation

As a starting point, we select only the most reliable vehicles with limited mileage and a high safety rating. This ensures a solid foundation upon which to build a great campervan.

Affordable Comfort

We want our campervans to be very comfortable, but also to be rugged and affordable. This is reflected throughout our design and build process.

Equipped for South African travel

Van life in the US / Europe is very different to South Africa. We've designed our vans specifically for a South African travel experience.

4x2 or 4x4?

We believe that 99.9% of the places you'll want to get to in South Africa are accessible in a regular vehicle with good tyres and high ground clearance. These vehicles are also cheaper to run and simpler to operate - a win-win! So our vans are not 4x4 or AWD, but rather regular old 4x2.

2 or 4 People?

We're a family of 4 and want Cape Town Campers to be available to families too. So all our campervans are roomy for 2 and will fit 4 just fine! It's that simple really.

Simplicity

An unfamiliar campervan with lots of systems, in an unfamiliar country could be unnerving to many. So we've kept things super simple and focussed on getting the basics spot on!

Charging & Connection

Lots of our customers like to work on the road and stay connected. This makes things like USB sockets, big batteries and solar power more important in the build.

South African travel is awesome!

Said everyone who has ever visited!

Vehicle specifications

Chassis & Drivetrain

Chassis & Drivetrain

Chassis & Drivetrain

Our campervans are either LWB Ford Transits or Mercedes Sprinters. All have high roofs. They are rear wheel drive, have manual gearboxes and take diesel. They'll do roughly 10km to the litre,  depending on the terrain and driving style.

External

Chassis & Drivetrain

Chassis & Drivetrain

Whilst not 4x4 campervans, they are well equipped for rough terrain. They have high ground clearance, all-terrain tyres, and a roof rack. An external ladder leads up to the roof and there is an external awning for shade. Electricity points and lights complete the outdoor look.

Sleep

Cook & Eat

Each van has a 2+ metre long queen size bed, suitable for tall folks! The windows can be blacked out at night for privacy. The campervans are well insulated for warmth at night and have air conditioning. There is a roof tent on the roof (duh!) that can sleep an additional two people.

Cook & Eat

We design for outdoor cooking and eating. Each campervan comes with a 60L+ dual fridge/freezer. There is plenty of inside storage space for other cooking essentials. You'll be cooking outside (under awning) on gas with an outdoor table and chairs. There is also a braai (BBQ) grid for outdoor cooking and eating.

Travel

Travel

Each camper can seat 4 people whilst traveling. Two (or three) up front and two (or one) on seats behind. Stereo and nav systems are just the basics. Electric windows up front, sliding windows in the back. A toolbox for self-help if any basic issues.

Wash

Travel

There is a basic external shower with hot/cold running water. No internal shower space. A small portable toilet for emergencies. There is also an internal basin with hot and cold water.

Plug In & Connect

Plenty of storage space for food, cutlery, crockery, clothes, camping gear, chairs, table, laptops, chargers, books...and pretty much anything else you can think of

Plug In & Connect

Solar panels, DC-DC and AC-DC chargers, an inverter and Lithium-Ion batteries mean plenty of oomph to keep your phones, laptops and other gadgets charged. There are plenty of USB and 220V sockets around the cab.

Life is not meant to be lived in one place.
